Small is Significant
In 2012, Corinthians began on a street with a few players and a single ball.
It was just a random kick-about in a suburb on a patch of road with no other intention or motive than for a bunch of boys in the neighborhood to have some fun and–for that brief intermission in time–focus on something apart from the drudgery of everyday life.
The movement today has grown from being a football on the streets, to a football in a park, to a football club, to an organisation where football is a vehicle driving towards social transformation.
Imagine if–because of a lack of funding, or self-doubt, or even laziness–that there wasn’t an impromptu game that fateful day and if they chose to stay inside. We would have been denied the opportunity to be witnesses to the alleviation of so many societal ills–in real time.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a single pushup, or a sole sentence, or even a walk instead of a jog. Starting small is better than not starting at all.
Scripture to meditate on.
Job 8:7 Though thy beginning was small, Yet thy latter end should greatly increase.
