Our mission at Corinthians is to empower young people.

Corinthians is a non-profit organization located in LaRochelle, South Johannesburg, Gauteng. This area is based in Sector 1, which is one of the highest ranking sectors with regard to criminal activities taking place. The community faces various social challenges, including poverty, unemployment, and high levels of crime.

Our mission at Corinthians is to empower young people in the community through sports, recreation, education, and economic opportunities. Our primary goal is to reach at-risk youth and transform their lives through sports. We believe that sports can be a powerful tool for positive change, helping young people build confidence, develop social skills, and learn important life lessons like teamwork, perseverance, and discipline.

We have specific programs for young women aimed at preventing teenage pregnancies and providing support for those who have already become pregnant. Our netball and soccer teams provide young women with an outlet for their energy and help them build self-esteem and a sense of purpose. For young men, we aim to keep them off the streets and away from a life of crime and drug abuse. Our soccer and cricket teams offer them a positive alternative, helping them develop their athletic abilities and learn important life skills.

We are proud to say that we have already worked with over 3,000 young people in the community, and we are well on our way to reaching our objectives. We believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances. By providing them with access to sports, education, and economic opportunities, we hope to create a brighter future for the community.

Over the last 10 years, we have worked hard to establish accredited and recognized clubs for our different sporting teams. We have a strong commitment to the development of our athletes, and we believe that our clubs can provide them with a pathway to success. One of our unique initiatives is the blind soccer team, one of the first in Johannesburg.

This initiative was born out of a recognition of the misrepresentation of disabled sports in the country. We believe that everyone, regardless of their abilities, should have the opportunity to participate in sports and be part of a team.
